The Eravikulam National Park
is a 97 sq km (square kilometer) park located along the Western Ghats
in the Idukki district of Kerala, India. It is famous for the
population of Nilgiri tahr that inhabit the region.
The park is administered by the
Kerala Department of Forests and Wildlife, and the Munnar Wildlife
Division. Eravikulam remains open throughout the
year, except between January and March. The best time to visit the park
is in September and October, when the region is covered with lush green
vegetation.
